This is brutal, and honestly pretty hard to defend.

Being denied boarding because staff misunderstood visa rules is bad enough, but when Qatar’s own site says no visa is required for an airside transfer under 24 hours? That’s inexcusable. Especially on a single QA-issued ticket with plenty of connection time.


What really gets me is that they didn’t reroute you or escalate it properly. You show up early, try to resolve it calmly, miss the flight while talking to their ground handler, and then you’re just… stuck buying a whole new ticket yourself. That’s a nightmare scenario.


Swissport being involved sadly explains a lot, but from the passenger side that distinction doesn’t matter. QA sold the ticket and should own the mistake. Denied boarding over a rule that doesn’t exist feels like a textbook failure.


Hope you’re able to get a refund at minimum, because this one feels pretty clear cut.
