The passport stamp era really is ending

Feels like the end of a small but meaningful travel tradition. With all the new entry and exit systems rolling out, more and more countries have stopped stamping passports altogether.

I just came back from Namibia and was genuinely excited to get a stamp. It felt like a souvenir from another era. Lately it’s rare enough that when it happens, it actually feels special.

I get why countries are going digital. Faster processing, cleaner records, less hassle. But flipping through an old passport and seeing where you’ve been was part of the magic for me.

Curious how others feel. Going to miss the stamps, or happy to move on?
