Spirit canceled my flight… then charged me to rebook?

Currently stuck in NYC. Spirit canceled my flight and when I rebooked for the next available one (about 24 hours later), I was charged.

From what I understand in their policy, rebooking after a cancellation is supposed to be free. I didn’t pick a Big Front Seat or anything extra. Just a standard seat on the next flight.

To make it worse, that rebooked flight also got canceled.

When I try to talk to customer support, I just get the runaround.

Am I misunderstanding something? Or was I not supposed to be charged to rebook after they canceled? Has anyone successfully gotten those fees refunded?
