Southwest canceled my reservation without telling me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Booked a flight for tomorrow morning at 6am. When I went to check in, the reservation was just gone. Looked up the confirmation number and it showed as canceled.

Called Southwest and was told “a step was missed to complete the reservation.” That makes zero sense to me. I had a confirmation number, my husband and son got itinerary emails, and my credit card was charged. The booking was made Jan 7 and apparently canceled at 5am on Jan 11. No email, no warning, nothing.

If something really was missing, why charge the card and issue a confirmation number? And why not notify me before canceling?

Thankfully the agent was able to rebook me on the same flight since I need to travel for a family situation, but this could’ve been a disaster if I hadn’t checked.

Definitely planning to write corporate about this. Curious if anyone else has had Southwest cancel a reservation like this with zero notice.
