Seat selection €36 one way and €26 the other… normal?

Seat reservation pricing isn’t always symmetrical. Airlines often price seats based on demand for each individual flight segment, not the whole booking. So if the outbound BER–DOH–DPS flights are selling faster or have more demand, the seat fees can be higher than the return.


Yes, seat prices can change over time. They’re dynamic, just like fares. If certain rows start filling up, the price for the remaining seats can increase. Sometimes they also adjust pricing closer to departure.


There’s no guarantee they’ll go up, but there’s also no guarantee they’ll stay at €36.


If you really care about sitting together or in specific seats, it’s usually safer to lock them in now. If you’re flexible and okay with whatever’s assigned at check in, you could wait.
