This was only my second flight ever so I am not super familiar with what is normal or how to handle awkward situations.
On a Porter regional flight with the 1 and 1 layout on each side. The guy next to me was very plus sized and the flight was full, so switching was not an option. He was taking up a noticeable part of my seat and I basically had half my body off the cushion the whole flight.
I recently hurt my tailbone skiing, so it was honestly pretty painful. I did ask him if he could shift a bit for takeoff and landing, but after that it was just awkward and I did not push it further.
What is the proper etiquette in a situation like that? Do you involve a flight attendant? Just deal with it?
Also wondering if it is unreasonable to contact Porter about at least some points back since I did not really get full use of my seat.
Curious how others would handle this if it happens again.
