Royal Caribbean Bans Rubber Duck Hunts in Oasis of the Seas’ Central Park

If you’ve cruised on Royal Caribbean, you might have seen the cute tradition of hiding rubber ducks around the ship for other passengers to find. On Oasis of the Seas, many of those ducks ended up in the lush Central Park atrium but now, that’s officially off-limits.

The cruise line says the scavenger hunts were damaging plants in the green space, so signs now mark it as a duck free zone. Guests can still hide ducks elsewhere on the ship, just not in shops, pools, hot tubs,

stairwells, or anywhere they could fall overboard.

Personally, I get the rule live plants are tricky enough to maintain at sea but it’s a little sad to see one of the more playful cruise traditions restricted. Do you think these kinds of small activities add to the cruise experience?
