Reported an assault on my cruise… now I’m on the do-not-sail list

On my last Carnival cruise I was out by the pool smoking a cigar with a couple guys I’d been hanging with all week. A really drunk woman I’d never met wandered over, got loud, and out of nowhere slapped me in the face. I backed off and she tried again, so I asked a crew member to call security.

Security came, I told them what happened, and two guys nearby backed up everything I said. They took our statements, detained her, and walked me back to my room. They asked if I wanted to press charges and I said yes.

Next morning my card got flagged and they said local police were waiting if I still wanted to go through with it. I had a flight to catch and never even saw an officer. I got home and about 10 days later Carnival emailed saying I’m now on the do-not-sail list.

Feels messed up that reporting someone who hit me ended with me being banned. Not sure if I should push back or just let it go.
