Priority Pass experience at Avianca / TAP lounge in Miami left a bad taste

Tried to get into the Avianca / TAP lounge at MIA this week with Priority Pass and my family. I’m pretty sure the person right in front of us was let in using PP. When I asked to scan, I was told they were “full.”

What bothered me was how it went down after that. I mentioned it was outside the busy hours shown in the app and asked if there was any flexibility. The staff member clearly got annoyed, called his manager, and while speaking in Spanish added “con niños.” I’m bilingual, so I caught that part. We were promptly rejected again.

I know Priority Pass is notorious for this kind of thing, but the kids comment really rubbed me the wrong way. It felt less like capacity management and more like “we don’t want families.”

At this point I’m just tired of paying for a membership where you have to beg to use it and still get treated poorly. Seriously considering canceling.
