Platinum for Life bag tags seem to be basically extinct now

From what I’ve seen lately, the lounge staff at CDG are telling the truth. AF/KLM quietly stopped producing physical bag tags a while ago and the “sustainability” line is what everyone’s hearing. No official replacement process anymore, even for Platinum for Life.

That’s why the secondary market has gone nuts. €300–€400 on eBay is sadly normal now, especially for AF-branded or older Flying Blue elite tags. People hoard them or resell when they downgrade.

A few ideas that sometimes work:

Ask at smaller outstations or KLM lounges instead of AF flagship ones. Occasionally staff still have old stock in drawers, especially outside CDG/AMS

Email Flying Blue support directly and frame it as a theft, not a “lost tag” request. Long shot, but a few people have gotten lucky with goodwill gestures

Keep using the Royal Wing tags. Honestly those are way cooler than current FB branding and airline nerds notice

Unfortunately there’s no official way to buy or replace them anymore. If you see one under €200, that’s basically a bargain at this point.
