I booked a round trip business class flight from the US East Coast to Greece for this summer for me and my girlfriend. Total was a little over $6k, and I’m planning to propose on the trip.
Obviously I’d like us to sit together on the flight, but SAS wants about $240 total just for seat selection, which feels a bit painful after already paying that much for the tickets.
Right now the seat map still shows about four pairs of seats available together.
So I’m wondering what people usually do in this situation:
Should I wait until 30 hours before check-in and hope we can grab seats together then?
Should I just book one middle seat and hope nobody picks the one next to it?
Or do I just accept it and pay for the seat selection now?
Part of me keeps thinking that $240 is basically two nice dinners in Greece.
