Online check-in failing across Hawaiian + Alaska is peak airline chaos

This sounds beyond frustrating, especially when everything is technically correct and it still just dumps you with a “see agent at airport” error.

Mixed Hawaiian and Alaska itineraries seem to be the worst of both worlds right now. Two record locators, two apps, neither able to complete check-in, and phone support basically unreachable. That’s not a corner case either, this is a pretty normal setup for island to mainland travel.

The paid seat thing is the cherry on top. No free seats showing at check-in, only $140+ per segment options, even though it’s right at the 24 hour window. That always feels intentional, like the system is nudging you to give up and pay.

And the feedback form not even having “check-in” as a category is almost funny in a dark way. Like they already know it’s broken and don’t want to hear about it.

Hawaiian and Alaska really need to get their systems talking to each other better, because right now it feels like passengers are the ones beta testing the merger.
