Went on a stag do and the best man booked all our flights. My name was wrong by one letter. Not my mistake, but I only got the boarding pass at 5pm for a 6am flight the next day, way too late to fix it for free. Ryanair normally gives you 48 hours to correct up to three letters.
I spent hours online reading horror stories and almost paid the £125 name change fee.
In reality, there were zero issues. Flew out and back without a problem. Honestly, the only time a human really looks at your boarding pass is at boarding, and they’re not scrutinizing every letter unless something flags.
Obviously not encouraging people to risk it, but in my case, one letter made no difference at all.
Posting this because I wish I’d seen something like this before panicking.
