I’m 32 and my girlfriend is 33. We’re good otherwise, but this one thing is really bothering me. She has zero interest in traveling together. Anytime I suggest a trip, her response is basically “you go, I’ll go somewhere else.”
I get solo travel. I’ve done a lot of it myself and I understand why people love it. But I also want to experience places with my partner. I even suggested a compromise like 60% solo trips for her and 40% trips together, and she still wasn’t into it.
There aren’t other major issues in the relationship, but I can’t seem to shake this. Traveling together matters to me and I don’t know how to bridge this gap without pushing or sounding controlling.
Would really appreciate insight from people who prefer solo travel, especially women.
