Missed BA connection after late arrival, kicked off the flight

My partner was flying British Airways from Dubai to Inverness via Heathrow. The Dubai flight landed about an hour late, which cut the connection down to around 55 minutes.


She made it to the gate with roughly 35 minutes to go, but was told she’d already been removed from the flight. The only alternative they offered was a flight about 10 hours later since everything else was full.


This was all caused by the inbound delay, so it feels like a BA issue rather than anything she did wrong. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Where does she actually stand in terms of BA responsibility or compensation?
