My Munich → Doha → Kuala Lumpur flight was cancelled two days before departure, but I managed to get rerouted on the same day via Istanbul.
I had to try a few times to get through to customer service (calls kept dropping at first), but once I got into the queue an agent picked up after about 15 minutes.
At first they said rerouting wasn’t possible. I mentioned EU passenger rights and asked if I could be rebooked on Turkish Airlines. After checking again, the agent came back and confirmed it was possible.
The whole call took about 50 minutes, but eventually I received the new itinerary and it showed up in the Qatar app even before the email arrived.
If you’re dealing with a cancellation, it’s definitely worth calling and asking about rerouting options.
