Our ship docked around 5:50am with expected disembarkation at 6:30. We kept our bags and did walk off with no assistance.
Up at 5:15 to finish packing and tip our room steward. Used the forward elevators to get down to deck 4. At 6:25 we were in a line of maybe 150 people. At 6:26 they announced we were cleared to start disembarking.
By 6:35 we were through customs using facial recognition. Grabbed a taxi around 6:50 and were at FLL by 7:00. Traffic was heavy outside departures but no line at the Southwest counter.
TSA was very busy. TSA Pre was long, CLEAR was about 10 people. Some confusion from first time flyers slowed things down. We got to the gate around 7:40, giving us about a 40 minute buffer before the 8:30 departure.
Definitely tight, but doable if everything lines up and you move with purpose. Hopefully this helps others decide what flight times they’re comfortable with.
