I was supposed to leave for Greece the next afternoon and completely panicked when I couldn’t find my passport. Tore the house apart. Nothing. I never lose it, so this was nightmare fuel.
I’m in San Antonio and figured my only option was to delay the trip and try to get an emergency passport. Ended up driving to Houston at an ungodly hour. Got there around 5am and was first in line. They technically don’t take walk ins, but I explained the situation and they had me call a number to get a same day appointment.
I had all my paperwork and every form of ID I could find. Somehow it worked. Walked out around 1:45pm with a brand new passport.
If anyone ever finds themselves in this situation and is traveling within 14 days, call 1-877-487-2778, then option 1, then 1, then 2. You’ll get a human who can actually help.
Also bring every piece of ID you own. Driver’s license, birth certificate, SS card, old student ID, even a photo of the lost passport. No idea if it officially helps, but it didn’t hurt.
Still can’t believe it worked.
