Posting this as a cautionary tale. I got permanently banned from Carnival and it still stings.
I started cruising recently and got hooked fast. Cheap prices, food, good vibes. I was booking a cruise almost every couple months. This was my fifth one, solo, on Carnival Sunrise. I’m a single 31 year old guy and pretty social, met a lot of people at shows and around the ship.
Night 3 or 4, some guy comes up to me aggressive out of nowhere. Turns out he thought his girlfriend slept with me. I had no idea what he was talking about. I walked away and ignored it. People were drinking heavy so I didn’t think much of it.
Next day, he approaches me again and straight up says he wants to hurt me once we’re off the ship. Again, I walk away and laugh it off.
That last night at the nightclub, he comes at me a third time. Gets right up in my space and starts threatening to punch me. I finally snapped and pushed him back. He hit me in the face and I defended myself.
Security got involved. Even though they said they saw that he was the aggressor, I still ended up permanently banned once I got home. I appealed, explained everything, no luck.
I’m not blaming Carnival. I get that I was involved in something that could’ve hurt other people. I’m just disappointed in myself for not walking away that third time. Pride got the better of me and now I’m paying for it.
If there’s any lesson here, it’s this: just walk away from drunk idiots, even when you’re right. Choose fun over ego. I learned that one the hard way.
