Is it getting harder to use lounge invites lately?

I haven’t been able to use my two lounge passes at all this year.

First was a red eye PER to SYD. Had two invites in my account, eligible flight, but couldn’t link them. No clear reason.

Today ADL to SYD, same problem. Adelaide lounge is supposedly open but I was told they’re under renovation and at full capacity. It’s midday Tuesday and the airport is quiet.

Phone support told me you can’t link an invite within 24 hours of departure. That doesn’t sound right. I’ve linked them last minute before, especially after schedule changes.

One pass is from points, the other from hitting Silver.

Is anyone else finding it harder to actually use these passes lately?
