Is Air France’s ticket change process always this bad?

Tried to change one leg on a multi-stop Air France trip last weekend. First agent said it needed to be sent to the “back office” for manual repricing and I’d get an email in 24 hours. That was a week ago. I’ve called four times since, and every time they just say “we’ve sent a reminder.”


Now the price jumped to €1,600 and they still can’t process it. Does this back office even exist? Has anyone actually gotten a ticket change done through them?
