Had a weird one on BOS to PLS earlier.
Zone 1 was boarding and I’m just standing there waiting for Zone 2. Suddenly a woman with two grown kids starts loudly saying she’s Platinum and needs to board now.
Gate agent just says ok and lets her push right up.
I asked the agent if Platinum gets some secret perk I don’t know about, and if so what Diamond gets you. She just told me to get in line.
They made multiple announcements about zones but people still kept drifting to the front and no one really stopped them.
Boarding zones feel optional sometimes.
