As someone who flies to Thailand pretty often, I’ve always wondered why there’s still no nonstop flight from the US. Turns out, it’s mostly about economics long routes with mostly leisure traffic don’t bring in the big bucks. I usually go through Tokyo or Seoul, but with Thailand regaining its FAA Category 1 safety rating, I’m hoping that changes soon.
United’s launching a one-stop LAX- Bangkok flight via Hong Kong this October, which is cool, but I’d jump at a nonstop from the West Coast. The flights are so long already, and skipping the layover would be a game-changer.
Has anyone else dealt with these long hauls? Would you pay extra for a nonstop? Or are you good with the stopovers if it saves money?
