Hotel kept my deposit and accused us of damage we didn’t do

Stayed at a five-star hotel with my family and after checkout they told us they were keeping the $200 deposit due to the condition of the room.


They sent a video showing coffee spilled everywhere, peanut butter smeared on the windows, and stuff all over the floor. We can say with 100% certainty we did not leave the room like that. It honestly looks like a completely different stay.


The hotel is sticking to their story and says the lock log shows no one else entered the room. I asked about hallway cameras but haven’t gotten a response yet.


Not sure where to go from here. Has anyone dealt with something like this before or had success disputing it?
