Hilton Surpass giving me gold… does that lower the nights needed for diamond

I usually hit gold each year on nights but diamond is tough. Looking at the Hilton Surpass card since it gives automatic gold, and wondering if that means I’d only need the “difference” in nights to reach diamond. Like if gold is 25 nights next year and diamond is 50, would having Surpass gold mean I only need 25 more… or do I still need the full 50?
