Hilton price match feels intentionally misleading

Tried to use Hilton’s price match policy and the whole experience felt incredibly shady. I checked the policy beforehand and made sure everything applied so there shouldn’t have been any issue.


Instead, I called the price match department three separate times and got completely different answers each time, all of which directly contradicted what’s written on Hilton’s own site. I was told the match couldn’t be processed because the hotel’s direct website “doesn’t exist,” that you can’t price match direct booking sites, that using the Hilton member rate disqualifies you, and even that picking the cheapest rate disqualifies you.


None of that lines up with their published terms.


On the final call, when I calmly read their own policy back to the agent, she literally started yelling at me. I wasn’t rude, just asking for an explanation. After nearly two hours total, I gave up.


It honestly feels like the department is trained to lie or confuse people until they quit. Has anyone actually had success with Hilton’s price match, or is this just how it always goes?
