Had a strange moment at Southwest baggage drop this week. The regular line was massive, probably 50 people deep. I’m A List Preferred, so I used the priority lane and honestly would’ve missed my flight if I hadn’t.
As I was leaving, someone in the regular line started yelling at me and the other priority passengers, calling us assholes. Then he went after the agent for letting us “cut.” The agent calmly told him it was the priority lane and said something like, if you don’t like it, fly more.
Later I mentioned it to a friend and he said using the priority lane was kind of a douche move and that I should’ve arrived earlier instead of acting like my time mattered more.
I know it’s a busy travel season and a lot of people don’t fly often, but the whole thing still left a bad taste.
