Met a British guy on my last day in Italy who said he’d lost his cards and needed cash. He showed me a Bank of Scotland transfer of €1000 to my Indian account, so I gave him €800 cash. Took screenshots and everything looked legit, but days later no money, no replies. His WhatsApp stopped delivering and his number doesn’t connect.
Pretty sure I got scammed, but is there any way to confirm this or report it? Can I contact Bank of Scotland to check if the transfer was ever real?
