Got scammed by a Booking.com listing and support isn’t helping

My Bristol flight got canceled and they moved me to Luton for an early flight, so I grabbed a guest house on Booking.com that literally had “Luton Airport” in the name. Listing said check-in was open until midnight. Right after booking, they messaged asking my arrival time, then tried to push me to WhatsApp.


From there it went full scam different guys messaging me, trying to redirect me to some random house on a residential street, asking me to pay again through a Stripe link, and saying they “can’t check me in” at the place I actually booked. My Booking.com payment had already gone through.


I ignored them, booked another (much more expensive) hotel, and called Booking.com. Support was useless. They called the property, who of course claimed it was all a misunderstanding and deleted the WhatsApp messages. I told the agent repeatedly that I didn’t feel safe and that it was clearly a scam. After an hour she finally said she’d request a free cancellation. A deadline came and went, nothing happened, and no one ever called me back.


I paid with a debit card and I’m on holiday now who else can I report this to, and what are my options?
