Got charged $100 “upgrade fee” just for asking, check your Sixt invoices

I’ve rented from Sixt a ton with zero issues, but this one got me. At pickup I just asked if there were any free upgrades for Platinum members. They said no cool, no problem.


When I got home, I saw a $100 “upgrade fee” added to my bill even though I never agreed to one. Customer service said they’d remove it “as a gesture of goodwill,” which basically means it never should’ve been there.


So yeah, double-check your invoices, even if you think everything’s fine at pickup
