Glad I broke the “points rules” for Paris flights!

Planning my Europe trip, I kept waiting for the perfect redemption. But cash fares kept climbing, so I finally just used my points for Paris even though the value wasn’t “optimal.” Honestly, I’m glad I did. Flights would’ve cost way more in cash, and I still saved big.

Sometimes it’s worth bending the rules instead of chasing the best cents per point, I secured flights that would have cost significantly more in cash, even though the cents-per-point value wasn't technically optimal.
