Had this happen on a delayed SFO to NYC flight. They announced bins were full before Group 3 even boarded and started tagging everyone’s bags. The elderly couple in front of me tried to explain they had meds in theirs and the agent just kept repeating the same line about putting them on a flight the next day.
I got on with just a backpack and there was plenty of space. Whole empty bins. No idea why they do this but it’s becoming a weird trend lately.
