This was a long but actually interesting read. First time flying Qatar, all in economy, and the aircraft comparison was the most useful part for me.
Surprised to see the A350-900 come out as the favorite overall. Quieter, better comfort, and less fatiguing than both the A350-1000 and the 787-8. The 787 humidity wins, but the legroom loss sounds brutal. That lines up with what a lot of people quietly say about the 787 in economy.
The crew comments stood out too. Hearing that even Qatar crews are exhausted and rushing service says a lot about where long haul flying is heading. Makes those glowing “best airline in the world” headlines feel a bit dated.
Also Hamad Airport forcing security just to change gates after a 13 hour flight… yeah, that part resonated.
Basically confirms what most of us already know. Newer planes help, but 13 hours in economy is still 13 hours in economy.
