Been with IHG Rewards for years, Platinum from the Chase card, and I’ve always kind of wondered if I was doing something wrong because no front desk ever mentioned my status or offered anything. I usually stay 2–3 times a year and it’s always been just… here’s your key, bye.
Stayed in NYC near Times Square recently and the guy at the desk handed me a key with a Platinum sticker, thanked me, and asked if I wanted the welcome gift or points. First time it’s ever happened.
Makes me wonder if every other hotel I stayed at just didn’t bother, or if this guy was just unusually on top of things.
