EcoCeres has secured a multi‑year agreement to supply British Airways with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) derived entirely from waste‑based biomass, such as used cooking oil, poised to cut lifecycle carbon emissions by around 400,000 metric tonnes—equivalent to emissions from flying approximately 240,000 economy passengers between London and New York. As part of BA’s “Better World” strategy, which already used SAF for 2.7% of flights in 2024 and achieved a 13% reduction in carbon intensity since 2019, this deal supports the airline’s commitment to power 10% of its flights with SAF by 2030 and move toward net‑zero emissions by 2050. For EcoCeres, this collaboration marks a significant milestone in its mission to advance sustainable fuel solutions globally.
