Booked a hotel through Desk Reservation and the agent said it was 2550 plus a 17.99 transaction fee. I told her I might need to cancel if my work schedule changed. She said the fee was non-refundable. Cool, fine.
Work schedule changed an hour later, I called back, they said “no problem, cancellation added.” Then I notice the full 2550 is still pending. I call again and now they’re claiming the entire amount is non-refundable and “that’s their policy.” Completely opposite of what they told me.
Hotel confirmed a cancellation on their end. Desk Reservation refuses to put me through to a manager and keeps repeating the same line.
Googled them and… yep, tons of similar stories. Looks like a full-on scam OTA.
Anyone been through this? Best route here, chargeback? Let the hotel intervene? Something else?
