Chargeback ban with Ryanair. Has anyone actually beaten this?

Last year my daughter and I were flying Ryanair. After we’d already gone through the gate, the agent called us back. My backpack was resting on the ground, leaning against my daughter’s legs while I was putting our passports away. The agent insisted my daughter hadn’t paid for that backpack.

I explained it was my backpack and showed my boarding pass with the extra bag paid for. She made my daughter measure her personal item, admitted it fit, but still claimed we’d somehow bypassed paying for my bag because my daughter had “possession” of it. She was clearly rushed, shushed me, and said if I wanted to board, I had to pay.

Another agent took my card. I explained again, showed my boarding pass, and she agreed it was a mistake, apologized, but said the charge already went through and I’d have to contact Ryanair for a refund.

I tried. As expected, got nowhere. So I filed a chargeback. It was approved easily since I had photos, receipts, and we flew again two days later with the same bags and zero issues.

Now Ryanair has emailed saying I’m banned unless I repay them.

I’m willing to try explaining (again), but before I sink hours into this… has anyone actually resolved a Ryanair chargeback ban without paying them back? Or should I assume this is a brick wall and manage my expectations accordingly?
