Booked this last year the minute the calendar opened. ORD to NRT on JAL using AA miles. 2 seats for me and my son in premium economy, 50k miles each.
Checked last week and noticed a schedule change plus aircraft swap. Now we’re in regular economy. No notice, no refund, nothing.
I’ve called and chatted multiple times and keep getting vague answers. Latest supervisor told me I have to wait until AFTER the flight in July to request the miles difference back. That feels crazy. Why should my miles be tied up for months for a seat I’m no longer getting?
Ideally I’d either get moved back to PE on another flight or get the miles difference refunded now. Complicating things is that I also have 2 economy seats booked on the same flight for my husband and daughter.
Anyone dealt with this before with AA and JAL? Did you actually get the miles back without flying? I’m Platinum but that hasn’t helped at all lol.
