Booted off Frontier JFK to LAX on Jan 3 and now they’re calling me a no show

Was anyone else on the Jan 3 JFK to LAX Frontier flight where they removed 26 passengers after boarding? We were already seated for about 30 minutes when they said the plane was too heavy and made people get off.

Same day I got an email from Frontier saying I was eligible for a refund worth 4x my ticket price, but with zero instructions on how to actually get it. Since then it’s been a nightmare. I’ve called and chatted multiple times and every rep gives a different answer.

Today I got an email saying I was marked as a no show and that the cabin crew didn’t leave any notes. That’s wild considering I was involuntarily removed from the plane. Because of this mess I had to buy a same day flight on another airline since Frontier had no more flights that day.

At this point I don’t even know what to do next. DOT complaint? Chargeback? Anyone else dealing with this from that flight or had Frontier try to pull the no show card after kicking you off?
