First Europe trip and we’re doing it all by train. Family of 4 traveling late May/early June. I’ve gone down the Man in Seat 61 and Rome2Rio rabbit hole and now I’m a bit overwhelmed.
Main travel legs:
Munich to Chur
Chur to Tirano (Bernina) to Como
Como to Menton
Menton to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue
L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue or Avignon to Paris
Trying to decide between a 5 day Eurail Global Pass (flex) or just booking point to point. The pass seems convenient, but I’m not sure how smooth it is for smaller places like L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Also aware some routes need seat reservations anyway, especially Bernina.
If we go point to point, is it worth booking everything directly through each national rail site, or is something like Omio fine for simplicity?
Also debating whether we should just stay in Avignon instead of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to make the Paris leg easier and maybe cheaper, especially since it’s a Sunday.
Would love to hear what others would do with this kind of itinerary.
