Had a weird experience flying SAS out of Copenhagen.
Flight was already about 25 minutes delayed, which happens, fine. But at the gate they still went through the whole boarding theater. Zone 1 welcome this group, Zone 2 welcome the next group, lots of announcements, lots of waiting.
Then after all that, every single passenger ended up on the same bus to the plane.
So we spent ages doing zoned boarding, only for it to be completely undone. Once the bus arrived, there was no order at all getting off, people were waiting on each other, and boarding the aircraft became totally random anyway.
Feels like a lot of wasted time for something that made no difference at all. If everyone’s taking the same bus, why not just board everyone together and be done with it?
