Flew PHX → JFK → IST → JED on Turkish Airlines. Checked two bags, only one showed up in Jeddah.
Filed a PIR at arrival and have been checking status, but there’s been zero movement for five days. When I look it up on the Star Alliance tracker, it looks like the bag never left JFK.
Turkish keeps saying they don’t know where it is. Ground services in Jeddah say the same thing and agree it likely never left JFK. They also said theft is very unlikely because of security.
So if it wasn’t stolen and it never left JFK… where does a bag even go at that point? And why can’t anyone find it?
If anyone’s been through something similar with Turkish or JFK baggage, what actually helped? Just trying to figure out what else I should be doing at this stage.
