First time flying alone and definitely learned something the hard way today.
I volunteered to gate check my carry on since no one else would. I thought I’d grab it at the jet bridge like the other volunteers, but mine ended up at baggage claim. I didn’t realize once you exit that area you can’t go back in. There weren’t obvious signs where I walked out, so I only realized after the fact.
Now I’m stuck landside at PHX until a shuttle at 5:30pm. Landed at 7:48am. I was hoping to hang out in the shops and food area airside but that’s clearly not happening.
Is there actually any way to get back through security without a departing boarding pass? Or am I just committed to wandering around and camping at Starbucks all day?
Totally owning that this was my mistake, just trying to figure out my options. First solo flight lesson learned 😭
