9.5+ hour delay on Air India DEL–SFO and zero communication

AI 173 from Delhi to San Francisco was delayed more than 9.5 hours and the worst part wasn’t even the delay, it was the complete lack of response from Air India staff at DEL.


No clear explanation. No updates. No sense that anyone cared what passengers were going through. Just silence and indifference.


I don’t understand how this is acceptable. At that point, shouldn’t the airline be doing something? Refunds, rebooking on partner airlines, compensation for the delay, even basic communication would help.


It honestly makes you wonder how airlines are allowed to operate like this without accountability.
