8 hour Changi layover overnight, sleep or just wait it out?

If you’re landing around midnight and flying out at 8am, I’d 100 percent prioritize sleep.

Changi is great, but overnight it’s pretty quiet. Most shops are closed, Jewel isn’t really a hangout spot at that hour, and trying to stay awake after a long flight from Sydney sounds miserable.

Aerotel is usually the move in this situation. Even a few solid hours in a real bed and a shower makes a huge difference before another flight. Lounges overnight are fine for short waits, but they’re not great for actual rest.

Your fiancé might be right that you’re overthinking it, but you’re also right that being exhausted for the next leg isn’t worth saving a bit of money. I’d book the Aerotel and not think twice.
