€5.9k for 4 weeks in France and Italy over Christmas… realistic?

Heading to Europe Dec 26 to Jan 27 with my husband and our 2 year old. All major stuff is prepaid already, including ski passes in Courchevel and all trains and flights.

Stops are Paris (6 nights), Courchevel (8), Chambéry (1), Milan (1), Florence (5), Rome (5).

So this budget is just for food, local transport, and a few activities like the Louvre, maybe some day trips. We don’t drink much and we’re not planning fancy Michelin meals every night.

We’re thinking about €5,900 total for the month. My parents think we’ll need closer to €11,800 which feels… high?

For those who’ve done France and Italy recently, especially over the holidays, does €5.9k sound reasonable for mostly food and sightseeing?
